About the Health Office FOOD DRIVE

Each school year, The Health Office at OHS and Center School will sponsor the Mattapoisett Elementary Schools’ FOOD DRIVE — a community service project. Starting in September & October, the staff will donate the first food items. Then, each month the students by grade — collect, sort, check expiration dates and bring them to the local food pantry.

May…Kindergarten & Project Grow

*June is designated as the BIG PUSH month with both elementary schools collecting to help stock the pantry for the summer! Remember, hunger does not take a vacation! You can drop off food items to OHS or Center School until the LAST day of school!!!!

The FIRST FOOD DRIVE 2014 – 2015
MR. T CHALLENGED HIS STUDENTS!

Mr. Tavares challenged both schools by personally donating 480 cans he bought with the proceeds from the Staff Healthy Eating Challenge stating, “Hunger does not take a vacation”! If the students beat this number he promised to take to the roof….and he did! The students saw on the next to last day of school, before they headed off to vacation!
